Magical Laax

Laax is a municipality in the Surselva region in the Swiss canton of Graubuden situated central and east at an elevation of 3,440 feet with a population of 1,857 or 150 people per square mile. Laax is first mentioned at then end of the 13th century as Lags. In this view, the small but prominent lake is fogged over. Land use consists of agriculture (36%), forested (31%) with about 4% settled as buildings or roads and the rest (30%) is non-productive rivers, glaciers or mountains. Water in this area eventually drains into the Rhine.
