John Mayer Opens the Moody Center

Around Austin-John Mayer opened the new Moody Center on the campus of the University of Texas, Austin. With his nine member backing band they played 22 songs opening with Last Train Home followed by Belief, Shot in the Dark, Who Says, Changing, I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You), Helpless, Neon, In Your Atmosphere, Happy Birthday to You-to band member David Ryan Harris, Free Fallin', I Guess I just Feel Like, Moving On and Getting Over, Your Body Is a Wonderland, Stop This Train, The Beautiful Ones, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, Wild Blue, Hold On, Gravity, Walt Grace's Submarine Test-January 1967 (Encore) and New Light (Encore). Throughout the show Mayer demonstrated his remarkable guitar virtuosity but also showcased members of the band. The audience, looked like date-night and connected on many of the popular tunes-singing along and shouted loudly for more as the show ended on Gravity. They loved it!!! I don't remember any louder and sustained ovation in Austin. See the stage set-up below or swipe. #johnmayer #moodycenter #universityoftexas #austintexas
