Sports-2021 U.S. Grand Prix-Formula 1 has returned to America and is at COTA the first time since 2018. The top five positions determined by Saturday's qualifying are 1. Max Verstappen (Red Bull), 2. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) (Pictured Above), 3. Sergio Perez (Red Bull), 4. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and 5. Carlos Sainz (Ferrari). If you're not one of the more than estimated 340,000 to visit COTA this week you can catch Sunday's race 2PM Central on ABC. A sold-out event, sold-out parking, poor access roads and a shortage of shuttle bus drivers has led to heavy congestion and long transit times into COTA. Once inside COTA, those using UBER/Rideshare experienced long walks due to the extraordinary distance from the dropoff points to the event entry and lack of internal shuttles from the drop-off points. The crowds were hit by pedistrian bottlenecks along concessions and over-track bridges. More photographs from Friday shown below.
Congestion was bad early at 11AM on Friday and much worse at 3PM (Not Shown).
Even with some transient cloud cover, temperatures were higher than typical for late October. The venue provide little shade or even tables for enjoying food and drink. Having said that seeing and hearing these amazing Formula One cars is exhilarating.
