Westwood

Around Los Angeles-Westwood the neighborhood surrounding most of UCLA includes Malcolm Avenue. Janss Investment Company played a pivotal role in developing this area. As embossed above, 1926 on Malcolm Avenue. Many of the original homes remain but as elsewhere many are being replaced. UCLA's main campus broke ground in 1927 with the first 5,500 undergraduate students in 1929 (Wikipedia.org). "Janss Investment Company was a prominent, family-owned Southern California real estate development firm (1895-1995) responsible for developing ~90,000 acres, including Westwood, Belvedere Gardens and parts of Thousand Oaks. Founded by Dr. Peter Janss, the company notably developed the Westwood area and sold land for UCLA." (Wikipedia.org). Images RM2244.COM April 17th 2026. See more below.
