Texas Boys 6A Basketball-Westlake Al Bennett Court-Tuesday February 3rd 2026-The rematch of the "Battle of the Lakes" had Westlake besting Lake Travis (LT) 56-53 in Overtime. Back on January 9th Lake Travis edged out visiting Westlake 64-62 with a shot as the clock ran out. The rematch too was close with LT holding a small lead twice and Westlake leading by two after Q1, by three after Q2, by six after Q3 and then tied at the end of regulation. Score by quarter Westlake 13-11, 26-23, 43-37, 50-50 and then after OT 56-53. In the fourth quarter, LT outscored Westlake 13-7 largely on foul shots as Westlake was charged with five fouls compared to two by LT. Westlake went ahead for good at 2:18 remaining in OT 53-50. With four seconds remaining Westlake led 55-52, LT made one FT bringing the score to 55-53 then purposely missed the second but Westlake got the rebound and #4 Blake Cannatti was fouled with 1.43 seconds remaining. Blake made the first bringing the score to 56-53 then purposely missed the second causing the clock to run out.
