#1 Employer in the Austin Area is HEB, 27,271 local employees, followed by Tesla 21,191, Dell 13,000, St. David's Healthcare 12,639, Ascension Texas 12,635, Amazon 11,000, Apple 10,000, Baylor Scott & White 6,000, IBM 6,000, Samsung 4,500, AMD 4,400, Applied Materials 4,330, NXP 4,000, Flex 3,865, Accenture 3,500, Charles Schwab 3,400, YMCA 2,787, Visa 2,771, Austin Regional Clinic 2,578 and # 20 Deloitte 2,503. Of the top twenty, eleven are technology companies [~86,000] and four are healthcare organizations [~34,000].
