Texas 6A Girls High School Basketball State Semi-Final-Brenham High School-Tuesday evening March 3rd 2026. Westlake (39-0) edged Shadow Creek (33-4) 51-50 advancing the Chaps to the State Final. Score by Quarter Westlake 17-15, 32-25, 36-36, 50-51. Westlake put together a 15-10 second quarter to lead by seven at intermission. After the break Shadow Creek tightened the defense and outscored Westlake 11-4 to tie the match at 36-36. Near the end of the fourth quarter Westlake led 51-47 with 37 seconds remaining but Shadow Creek responded by hitting a clutch three for a score of 51-50. In the closing moments play was under Shadow Creek's basket and it was intense. The Chaps defended incredibly but fouled #1 Shona Gilbert sending her to the line, the FT was missed, #3 Da’Niyah Lewis got the rebound, shot quickly but missed as the time expired. Westlake started with #0 Molly Frazer (4 Points), #14 Peyton Hensle (13 Points), #15 Tamia King (12 Points), #30 Geralynn Byers-Veal (5 Points), #10 Wynn Thorne (10 Points) and off the bench #2 Townsend Hamilton (7 Points).
