According to Wikipedia, "Gilgit-Baltistan...is the northernmost territory administered by Pakistan". It has been a highly disputed area politically between India and Pakistan since 1947 and between India and China. "It is home to five of the 'eight-thousanders' and more than fifty peaks above 23,000 ft. Three of the world's largest glaciers outside the polar region are found in Gilgit-Baltistan-formerly known as the Northern Region.
