Chaps 52 Bulldogs 45 On Senior Night

Texas High School Basketball-Westlake Chaps opened fast with a 6-0 run on buckets from senior players Wonder Kahozi, Donovan Lee and Jack Seiders. That run prompted a wise timeout by the Bulldogs who then played tough with the Chaps going ahead for good with 5:59 remaining in the 3rd quarter. Westlake featured their better matchup on the frontline while Bowie kept it close by defending well-limiting three pointers, running good plays, hitting clutch shots and especially being resourceful on second-chance opportunities. The image above shows Bowie's double- and sometimes triple-teaming of Wonder Kahozi. Wonder hit clutch free throws in the closing minutes to help seal the win. Westlake went "four corners" with about three minutes remaining and Bowie waited until too late to foul to regain possession and possibly get two for one or three for two. Wonder, Donovan and Jack led the Chaps scoring with 23, 9 and 8. Scoring by Quarter 11-7, 14-15, 13-11 and 14-12 for leads of 11-7, 25-22, 38-33 and 52-45. Notably Max Purushothaman hit a key three giving Westlake the lead at half. See additional images below or click.
