Around Austin-Carlos Santana rifts on at the Moody Center, Tuesday August 18th 2026. His set opened with joyous video clips featuring music and dance from around the world past and present. That led into the percussive "Jingo" and the first of Santana's iconic guitar solos, filled with sustained notes, on his gold PRS. As noted in Wikipedia, "His music blends rock, jazz, blues, salsa and Afro-Cuban rhythms with a Latin feel." After "Jingo" was "Evil Ways", "Black Magic Women." Other tunes in the set were "Oye Como Va", "She's Not There", "Hope You're Feeling Better", "Smooth" and the 1970 signature Carlos Santana solo melody "Samba Pa Ti" (Samba for you). It is said that this was his "first song that he felt truly belonged to his own unique musical identity and expression in pure feeling." (Google AI). See more images below.

Carlos paid tribute to SRV and the Texas Shuffle by bringing out Jimmie Vaughan. It, in our view, reflects Carlos' approach of sharing the stage and living-in-the-moment, "Jamming." The two found the groove much to the audience's delight-See below.

The audience shows appreciation for Carlos and Jimmie jamming. The Co-Headliners "The Doobie Brothers" opened the evening delighting the full house with what are timeless classics. The set was "Rockin", "Take Me", "Depending On You", "I Keep Forgetting", "Walk This Road" (From their new album), followed by the Michael McDonald's iconic "It Keeps You Running", and "Minute By Minute". Following thereafter was "Without You", "Jesus", "Streets", "Long Train", "China", "Blackwater", "What A Fool Believes" (Michael McDonald) and closed with "Listen To The Music." The crowd sang along.
