Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band 2023

Around Austin-Music-Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band brought their 2023 tour to the Moody Center Thursday February 16th 2023. (Pictured Above) To the delight of fans Bruce walked the Moody Center crowd to the tune of "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" his sixth encore song of the 27 song concert.

Springsteen opened the show after being introduced by George Strait with "No Surrender" followed by in order "Ghosts, Prove It All Night, Letter To You, The Promised Land, Out In The Street, Candy's Room, Kitty's Back, Nightshift, If I Was The Priest, The E Street Shuffle, Johnny 99, Last Man Standing, Backstreets, Because The Night, She's The One, Wrecking Ball, The Rising, Bad Lands and Thunder Road." The encores that followed were "Cadillac Ranch, Born To Run, Rosalita (Come Out Tonight), Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" and ending solo "I'll See You In My Dreams."

At 73 Bruce, sounding a bit hoarse at times, was more reflective covering The Commodores classic "Nightshift" a tribute to soul greats Marvin Gaye "What's Going On" and Jackie Wilson "Higher and Higher." A memory really to all our love ones that have passed something Springsteen is experiencing more first hand at this stage of his life. His last encore "I'll See You In My Dreams" is attributed to the memory of "The Big Man" Clarence Clemmons the longtime tenor sax player who was fundamental to the E Street Sound, as mentioned in "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" ... "when the change was made uptown and the Big Man joined the band, from the coastline to the city, all the little pretties raise their hands."

There was a lot of hand raising, singing, and roaring throughout the show but Bruce hit his zone and dazzled the crowd in an ageless manner starting with "Badlands, Thunderoad, Cadillac Ranch, Born To Run, Rosalita, Glory Days and Tenth Avenue Freeze Out."
