Austin Marathon

Around Austin-Sunday morning February 15th 2026-The Austin Marathon Champion, with a record-breaking time of 2:13:18, is American Joesph Whelan. His average pace was 5:06 over this hilly course. See more images of Joey below. Under perfect weather and a 0700 start this 35th Austin Marathon was an amazing event. With 30,000 runners in the three distances the event also had more than 2,500 volunteers, 26 miles of live music and 100,000 spectators along the course. Record-breaking winner of the 35th Austin Marathon is Joesph Whelan waves to the crowd. He attributes his current level to quitting his job and adding miles, up to 120 miles per week. He's qualified for the 2028 Olympic Trials. Best of luck Joey!
